I have learnt Usui Reiki elsewhere, do I need to repeat those same levels again with Love Inspiration?
If you have learnt Usui Reiki Level 1,2 and/or 3/3a elsewhere, then there is no requirement to repeat any of these levels before moving into the next level with Love Inspiration. (However many people choose to do so as outlined in the options below).
If you have learnt Usui Reiki Level 4 or above elsewhere, then you will need to repeat these levels (from Level 4) with Love Inspiration as Levels 4-12 offered by Love Inspiration are unique and are not the same as other courses offered elsewhere. (Please note that Level 4 and above have specific Ascension Pathway prerequisites that are to be completed prior to commencing).

When coming to the Love Inspiration Usui Reiki courses from elsewhere, there are three main options for the practitioner:
* Option 1 - Move straight into the next Usui Reiki level with Love Inspiration
* Option 2 - Repeat the previously taken level (the whole level)
* Option 3 - Repeat the previously taken level (the attunement only)

Option 1 - Move straight into the next Usui Reiki level with Love Inspiration:
When learning Usui Reiki, we are commonly taught that once we have received the attunement for a particular level of learning, this will be 'with us' for the duration of our life. Therefore, if you are someone who has already learnt Usui Reiki (i.e. Level 1, Level 2 and/or Level 3/3a/3b from an Usui lineage) then you are lovingly able to continue on with your next Usui Reiki level, through Love Inspiration (assuming that you have met the necessary prerequisites for each particular level of learning).
For example if you are someone who has already learnt Reiki Level 1 with another teacher, then you are able to to progress into the Usui Reiki Level 2 teachings with Love Inspiration, provided you have waited for a minimum of 21 days since receiving your original Level 1 attunement. If you have learnt Level 2 from another teacher, you can lovingly move into the Level 3a Love Inspiration Reiki course, but again, we kindly ask that you have waited for the prescribed 3 months (from the date of receiving your first level 2 Reiki attunement) before stepping into the level 3a Reiki teachings. If you have completed the Level 3a attunement from another teacher then please note that Love Inspiration does not offer the Level 3b Master Teacher course (as these teachings are all included in Level 9 of the Love Inspiration system). Therefore if you have completed Usui Reiki Level 3a through another teacher, you can choose to take Level 3b with that same place, or alternatively, you can look at moving into the Advanced Usui Reiki teachings, through levels 4 - 9 with Love Inspiration (just ensure that you are always meeting the necessary Ascension Pathway prerequisites for these levels as this is very important).
Having said all of this, we often find that many Reiki practitioners like to re-learn, repeat or re-attune themselves with Love Inspiration, even though they may have already learnt this level before through another teacher. Therefore, when an 'already practising Usui Reiki' practitioner arrives at the Love inspiration website, they do indeed have an important choice to make about how to move forwards. They can simply move into the next level, like we've discussed above, or they can take some time to reconnect with the level(s) that they have already learnt before.
Throughout the Love Inspiration teachings, we try to encourage each practitioner to move forwards on their Usui Reiki journey in a way that feels right for them. Therefore, for those wishing to repeat or re-learn a course, we lovingly invite you to pursue an option that feels right for you. When trying to decide about which option suits you best, it can often be helpful to just take a few days to lovingly reflect on what the choice that feels right for you. Perhaps you can connect in with the Usui Reiki energies (or do any other form of meditation) to help you understand what option is resonating for you at this time. And for those who are still undecided after this, you can also ask for additional guidance and advice from other Love Inspiration practitioners. So let's take a few moments now to talk about some of these re-learning options.
Option 2 - Repeat the previously taken level (the whole level)
If you feel that you would benefit from doing the entire level again, then you are most welcome to do this. Here, you would simply download the applicable Usui Reiki ebook that you wish to repeat and then follow along with the instructions from start to finish. This will require you to firstly activate the Reiki energies for that particular level, read through the theoretical information, go through the process of receiving your attunement, read all of the practical information about how to do the Reiki practices and then move through the 21 days of self healing practices for that level of learning.
Of course, because you have already completed this level of Usui Reiki, there is no 'requirement' for you to do all of the self healing practices for the full 21 days and actually, there is no 'requirement' to re-learn this material either. For some people though, this is a good way to reconnect and re-remember some of the things that they have learnt previously and in many cases, people who read through the Love inspiration teachings will often gain new understandings and new perspectives about Reiki, due to the comprehensive nature of our Reiki ebooks. So this is the first way that one can choose to re-learn with Love Inspiration, by simply repeating the whole level and by following along with all of the instructions in a particular ebook. Simple!
Option 3 - Repeat the previously taken level (the attunement only)
In some cases, repeating an entire level might feel a bit much or unnecessary for some people. Therefore, another re-learning option can be to just focus on re-attuning yourself to Reiki. There is never any harm in re-attuning oneself to Reiki and for more information about this, you can also refer to our other FAQ “Can I repeat an attunement?”. For example, for those who wish to re-attune themselves to a particular Reiki level, they will need to activate the Love Inspiration ebook (as outlined on the first few pages of the ebook) and then the person can just flick through the ebook, to perhaps read and focus in on anything that may seem interesting to them. When they reach the attunement section, they will need to learn how to move through the attunement process and then they can then go ahead and receive their attunement. After this, they may feel guided to read through some of the practices or techniques sections and in this way, the focus is still very much on re-attuning, but the practitioner is still able to perhaps deepen their understanding about Reiki and the practices being introduced, without necessary needing to re-do the whole entire course again.
If you are feeling like this option is more appealing to you, might we suggest that you give yourself a few days (at least) to digest and assimilate your Reiki re-attunement, before moving into the next level with Love Inspiration. This 'few days' will often help you through some important healing & digestion processes and then once you feel ready, you can then move into the next level of learning. In other words, because you have already completed the attunement previously elsewhere, there is no requirement for you to wait the full 21 days before commencing the next level, but we do suggest that you give yourself some time for the re-attunement energies to settle into your consciousness, before moving into the next level.

An Example:
A Reiki Master who has already taken Levels 1,2 & 3 elsewhere is interested in the Love Inspiration Usui Reiki courses:
A Reiki Master arrives at the Love Inspiration website and they are interested to re-attune themselves to all of the traditional levels (Levels 1,2 & 3) of Usui Reiki. Let's assume that this person is interested to read up on anything that may be new to them as they go through this process and to learn any new techniques that may be introduced as well.
To start with, they will start by downloading and then opening up the Level 1 ebook. On the first few pages, they will be guided through the very important self-activation process which now activates their course for them. They can now read through any material that they find interesting and before re-attuning themselves, they will no doubt read through the attunement instructions. And when they feel ready, they would go ahead and re-attune themselves to Reiki level 1. In the days following their Level 1 attunement, they may feel guided towards reading through the practical sections of the ebook, so that they can better understand and learn about any new healing techniques that are being introduced. As they do this, they may start incorporating these new techniques into their daily practice, to help digest this new learning. After a few days of learning and practising and after feeling like their re-attunement has now settled into their consciousness, this person may feel ready to move into the next level of Reiki teachings (Level 2).
In the Reiki Level 2 training, there are quite a few new healing techniques being introduced and in addition to this, the Reiki symbols that are being introduced here may be quite new to a person who has learnt these from another teacher. To start with then, the person will start this course in the same way as Level 1, by self-activating the energies. After this, they may again choose to read through the material that looks interesting to them and when they feel ready, they can go ahead and receive their Level 2 attunement. In this case, because of the many healing techniques that are being introduced, and because the symbols may be new to them, this person may feel that a longer period of time is needed, to firstly practice with the new symbols and to secondly connect with the new healing techniques that have been introduced. They would be using their intuition throughout this process, to help them really 'feel' what techniques are working best for them in their own practice. And once they feel ready, they could then move into the Level 3a teachings to repeat the same process.
From here, if the Reiki Master would like to move into Love Inspiration’s Advanced Usui Reiki Levels 4,5 & 6 ebook, then they would need to undertake the necessary Ascension Pathway prerequisites which can be found listed in the front of the levels 4,5 & 6 ebook, on Page II.
* If this Reiki Master had also completed Levels 4 or above of Usui Reiki elsewhere, then they would still need to start again with Love Inspiration’s Level 4. The Love Inspiration Advanced Usui Reiki Levels (Levels 4 through to 12) are divinely unique to Love Inspiration, having been brought through from Higher Consciousness and channelled directly to Love Inspiration. Therefore these levels are not the same as other levels taught through other courses. By having everyone complete the Love Inspiration courses from Level 4 upwards, each person is being given the opportunity to benefit from the profound and deeply transformational energies of Advanced Usui Reiki (Levels 4-9) and Usui Reiki Gold (Levels 10-12) for the highest possible good of all beings.
