Can I give healing sessions to others during my 21 days of self healing practices (for Usui Reiki Level 1, 2 or 3)?
As outlined in the Love Inspiration Usui Reiki Level 1, 2 & 3 courses, a new practitioner can start to offer Reiki healing sessions to others after they have completed their 21 days of self healing practices. However, some practitioners may ask if they can give Reiki healing sessions during their 21 days of self healing practices.
The answer to this question really depends on the individual practitioner.
For example, if you are a new Reiki practitioner and you are really enjoying the self healing practices, you are feeling the relaxing, peaceful & warming energies and acquainting yourself with the Reiki healing energies and starting to tune into your inner world for the first time, then you may be very happy to use these first few weeks of your journey for yourself (i.e. rather than focusing on giving Reiki to others).
Alternatively, another new Reiki practitioner may have received the attunement and completed a few self healing practices and they may straight away feel very drawn to sharing the Reiki gifts with others. Perhaps they are someone who is an experienced meditator and they are feeling very happy to offer Reiki to others, rather than just focusing on healing themselves during this first 21 days.
Either of these options are absolutely fine and when choosing, please always trust your intuition and follow your heart.
If you are thinking of giving healing sessions to others during your self healing period, it may be important to consider some additional things also, such as 'Do I have enough time in the day to complete my own self healing practice PLUS an additional healing others practice?' (It is best for your self healing practices to have priority). Or, 'If I am experiencing a healing crisis will I actually feel like giving a healing session?' (The self healing period is quite a transformational time). On the contrary, you may feel that the additional merit accumulated from giving a healing session to someone else may help you with your healing crisis.
Overall, whichever option you decide on, we would just like to reiterate here that it is very important to complete the 21 days of self healing practices (regardless of whether you decide to give healing sessions for others during this time). The self healing period is paramount as it helps the practitioner to connect with, digest and assimilate the new Reiki energies for that particular level of learning.

Some further considerations for those who are perhaps asking this question in relation to the Level 2 and/or 3a teachings:
At these levels, you are already qualified in Level 1 Reiki and as such, you will still be able to offer hands on healing to others, should you wish to, during your (Level 2 or Level 3a) 21 days of self healing practices. In this way, if you do decide to offer hands on healing sessions to others during this time, you could experiment with the new symbols and/or healing techniques that you have just learnt in these advanced courses.
For those learning Level 2 and wishing to try out the distance healing techniques within the first 21 days, we would lovingly recommend that you first complete the 21 days of self healing practices before sharing the Reiki healing energies in this way. Again, the first 21 days will be helping you to become more familiar with the Level 2 symbols and after this period is complete, it will be helping you to become a stronger and more effective distance healer.

And finally, it is important to point out that for all practitioners, you will always be divinely guided on your journey forwards. If you are feeling like you wish to share the Reiki energies with others in some way during your first 21 days, then please honour this inner feeling. If you feel that you would prefer to really focus on the self healing aspects of Reiki during this first 21 days, then again, please honour this inner feeling. And of course, when you do decide that you are ready to share Reiki healing sessions with others, please lovingly share them with an open heart and with a sense of divine gratitude for the Reiki energies.
