An Introduction to Usui Reiki Lineage
When we learn Reiki, it is always very important that we learn about the relevant ‘theory’ for each level that is being taught. And in addition to this theoretical understanding, Reiki is also a little different in its learning approach in that it also requires that each recipient receive an ‘attunement’ for each level of learning. The attunement is a very special and divinely sacred process which opens up the recipient’s energy field to the Reiki energies and it is a very important part of the learning process. What this means then is that for anyone who learns Reiki, it is essential that they receive their attunement from a qualified Reiki Master Teacher. To become a qualified Reiki Master Teacher, it is important to receive the Reiki training through an authentic and genuine Reiki lineage.
The general concept of a Reiki lineage comes from the idea that Reiki is taught from Reiki Master to Reiki Student (who then becomes a Reiki Master to continue teaching the Reiki system to others). Therefore, a ‘lineage’ of Usui Reiki is simply the continuing link of Reiki Master to Reiki Student, Reiki Master to Reiki Student and so on. And we are very happy to share here that the Takata lineage is by far the most popular lineage in Reiki. Normally, if you hear someone say that they have learnt Reiki, there is a very high probably that firstly, they are talking about Usui Reiki and secondly, it is equally likely that their lineage is a Takata lineage.

Once this information was digested, Marty & Gerry felt that this information should be incorporated into the Reiki techniques of Love Inspiration and so, the Reiki ebooks that are offered on the Love Inspiration website contain a variety of information from a number of different Reiki lineages.
Therefore, it is fair to say that whilst the energies of the attunement & the drawing of the symbols have come through the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage (through the teachings of Mrs Hawayo Takata) it is also accurate to say that the Reiki practices, teachings and techniques being shared through the Love Inspiration ebooks are a blend of all Reiki lineages & teachings. Also, we wish to point out here that it is now clearly documented that Mrs Hawayo Takata herself taught her students in slightly different ways and as such, even within this one Takata lineage, there are a great many differences that can be found between those teaching Reiki. Again, Marty & Gerry have tried their best to encapsulate all of these different teachings into a comprehensive and well rounded set of Reiki ebooks so that you can benefit in the highest possible way.
Furthermore, Marty & Gerry wanted to include ‘additional’ information from some of the traditional ‘Japanese' Reiki lineages (noting that the Takata lineage is mostly a western based lineage). When Marty & Gerry learnt this, they were sure to follow along with this simple principle in all of their official teachings, right up until the point where they started to receive the Advanced Usui Reiki teachings from Higher Consciousness. For it was here, during the Advanced Usui Reiki Master Teacher level teachings (Level 9) that Higher Consciousness introduced Love Inspiration to a new ‘by distance’ attunement technique and Love Inspiration received the necessary blessings & endorsements from Higher Consciousness to offer the traditional teachings of Usui Reiki under this new ‘by distance’ attunement format.
