Non-Dairy Ice Cream
For those who are unsure how to make a delicious soft serve ice-cream in your blender, its super simple. Here are a few little tips to get you started before we get to the recipes:
1. Always try to use 'frozen' fruits when using these recipes as this will help to make your ice-cream more firm and ice-creamy rather than a more liquid or runny smoothie type drink. Bananas are your best friend for this! 2. Try to keep it sweet. Ice cream always tastes better when it has the perfect amount of sweetness. You can get this from the right fruits e.g. apples, pineapples & pears and if need be, you can also use some added sweeteners such as coconut sugar, date sugar, stevia or agave nectar. 3. Try adding some spices, essences or other natural flavourings to your ice-cream mixes. Things like cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla essence, mint essence, desiccated coconut and raisins can go a long way in your ice-cream making. 5. Always be creative, colourful & have lots of fun with your ice-cream making. There are lots of wonderful nutrients being absorbed here so enjoy! |
