Make Your Own Natural

Step 1 - Choosing Your Oils
Almost all skin care products contain something to make your skin feel smooth and soft and our natural skin care products are no different. For our products, we always like to choose organic oils, natural oils, healing oils, nourishing oils or any other type of oil that is very good for us. Here is a very basic list of some of the oils that you may wish to have in your cupboard.
Base Oils
Argan Oil Jojoba Oil Sweet Almond Oil Hemp Seed Oil Apricot Kernel Oil |
Nourishing Oils
Rosehip Oil Evening Primrose Oil Tamanu Oil Neem Oil Black Cumin Seed Oil |
Essential Oils
Rose Oil Lavender Oil Bergamot Oil Chamomile Oil Sweet Orange Oil |
Step 2 - Creating Your Own Blend
Now that we understand the types of oils to use for our natural skin care products, we now have to mix some of these together so that we get a wonderfully aromatic and healthy oil that is good for our skin and makes it look and feel great also. And this is where all the fun starts! In simple terms, the general formula for blending your own skin care products is:
Base Oil + Nourishing Oil + Essential Oil
There is no right or wrong quantity to put in here but rather what works and what doesn't work for you and your own skin. We are all very different so you will soon find what works best for you. You might wish to start with a 45:45 base oil to nourishing oil to start with or a 35:55 ratio depending on which oils you have and which healing properties you are requiring. The remaining 10% is allocated as space for the essential oil drops.
|
** You will only need a tiny amount of the essential oils in each of your mixed i.e. around 10 - 20 drops of essential oils (depending on the size of your bottle). A little bit of essential oil goes a long way so be sure to add little bits at a time.
